Year 2004 - Visual Studio 2.0

CLR 2.0 is introduced, generics, partial classes and other features added

Year 2005 - Visual Studio 3.0

It comes with Windows Workflow Foundation (WF), Windows Presentation Foondation (WPF), Windows Communications Foundation (WCF)

Year 2008 - Visual Studio 3.5

It provides built-in support for AJAX, Added facilities like LINQ, Dynamic Data etc

Year 2010 - Visual Studio 4.0

Introduction of CLR 4.0 and Parallel Task Libraries

Year 2012 - Visual Studio 4.5

It adds framework for supporting Windows Store Apps, automatic binding redirection etc.
